I am a full time Real Estate Broker, Real Estate Investor, & Property Manager.

I’m originally an East Coast person. My father was in the Army, and we moved a lot. New York and Florida mostly, but also Kansas, Georgia, Virginia and Italy.

I went to college at Florida State University and graduated with a degree in audio visual production. I then moved to Miami and worked in film production there until moving to Portland in 1995. I arrived in Portland without being very familiar with the area, yet I felt that I was finally home.

In 1999, I asked Michele to help me find a house to buy. We hit it off and became a couple. Shortly after, we started working together as she needed an assistant in her real estate practice. After several years of film production, I used to miss it; but real estate allows me to be home more while giving me the opportunity to make positive impacts in my community.

In 2003, Michele and I created Roots Realty as a means to work at something that we believe in, which is to help our community grow in a sustainable, healthy and artistic fashion. We strongly believe in investing in Portland real estate, and want to help others do so as well. We have a relaxed office atmosphere, but we are very serious about the Realtor Code of Ethics. Our industry is evolving constantly & we enjoy learning more every day. We have earned numerous designations and spend a large amount of time on continuing education and networking with other industry professionals, all so that we can be the very best agents for our clients.

Portland Oregon is a fantastic region and city to live in and we are grateful to be here, and to be able to contribute to our wonderful community. In particular we are excited about the potential of sustainable building and sustainable technologies. Also the food in this region is worth moving here for alone!

My favorite non-work activities are bicycling, skateboarding, white water rafting & kayaking, hiking, photography & just being, while catching as much live music as possible. I am happily a vegan for life, but most of my friends & family are not, so don’t let that throw you. ;>)

I love to tour properties on bicycle or alternative transportation whenever possible, just let me know.

Thank you for considering our company!

*In 2004 I earned the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation, however I no longer hold this designation because the annual fee did not pass my cost vs. value analysis. I do think it is a good program for newer agents.

In 2006 I earned the EcoBroker designation, however I no longer hold this designation because the annual fee did not pass my cost vs. value analysis.

In 2009 I earned the NAR Green designation, however I no longer hold this designation because the annual fee did not pass my cost vs. value analysis.

In 2009 I earned Home Ownership Opportunities NW Membership, however I no longer hold this membership because the annual fee did not pass my cost vs. value analysis. However, the resources are available for all to use, & I am happy to help home buyers use these tools that may be available for them when purchasing a home.
